Now a Tropical Depression but forecasted to become Son-Tinh is an area east of the Philippines today. This storm is working west and is expected to produce flooding rains and the risk of mudslides in Visayas, Southern Luzon and Mindanao. Through the coming days be careful as this storm pushes ashore in steep mountainous areas, especially those on volcanic slopes. Seas near the east coast will be building up to 5meters high as the storm nears making venturing to the beaches especially dangerous.
Elsewhere Japan is getting ready for a strong storm pushing from the west. Wide spread heavy rain showers will be seen on Tuesday accompanied by storms containing hail, frequent lightning and possibly a tornado. Good news is that by the end of Tuesday this rough weather should start to taper off.
