NOTE: Here is WxCaster PAT’s Latest Video Update on this system.
Prapiroon is now yet another Strong Typhoon in the western pacific this tropical season and the 21st storm named by the Japan Meteorological Agency. At this time the storm remains well away from any landfamasses but it still poses a threat with large waves and some outer rain bands hitting coastal areas.
At this time a developing eye near the center of circulation has caused JMA to declare this storm a typhoon. Improving conditions for further development around Prapiroon could even make the storm stronger through the coming days.
The next 72hrs most models indicate the storm will slowly track WNW before making a turn to the North East as a trough coming out of China picks the typhoon up to the North. Yet a few models ( GFS and ECMWF ) negate this turn and have Prapiroon moving towards Southern Japan by the end of the week.
As always though we will continue to keep you updated here at westernpacificweather.com with the latest information.
