Typhoon Sanba blew over Okinawa this morning packing winds gusting above 200kph. At this time damage reports remain minimal testifying to the architecture and structures of the small island of Okinawa. Low lying flooding has also been reported due to the storm surge and massive waves that crashed ashore as Sanba made landfall. Some houses have also been submerged in about a meter of flood water.
Now the storm is heading North and is expected to impact the Korean Peninsula on Monday as a strong typhoon. Areas in Western Kyushu and the southern Coast of South Korea need to take the proper steps now to prepare before the arrival of this intense storm system.
