Nearly 90% of Metro Manila is under water today as flooding rains continue to drown the city with over a Meter of rainfall in the past week alone. This has resulted in 64 Deaths and numerous injuries while effecting nearly a half a million people in 15 Provinces and 26 cities in Central Luzon.
These record breaking rainfalls have been compared to Ketsana (Ondoy) from 2009 but in many ways these rains remain more dangerous due to there constancy and since they are not associated with a named system the warning for the rains was put out unnoticed by many until the situation got severe.
Yellow warnings are still in effect in Manila as more rains continue to hit the area. Good news is that in to the weekend expect these conditions to begin to taper off as Haikui to the North begins to weaken thus weakening the strong Monsoonal flow that has been fueling the rains.
To the North we also look at Haikui where heavy rains cool fall inland of Shanghai resulting in low lying flooding as the storm stalls out over eastern China.
