Devastating Floods have been impacting the Philippines the past week now resulting in widespread pooling of water within the urban areas. Many homes have been partially or completely submerged due to these storms that have been
continuing to hit Luzon and the big kicker with them is that they are not related directly to any tropical systems. This is an example of the south west monsoon and a poor infrastructure combined to create a devastating scenario. More rain is expected in the region through the remainderof the week but hopefully by friday and saturday the monsoonal flow should start to slow improving conditions.
Improving conditions though will be very welcomed as the death toll has now topped 50 and over a half a million people have been directly impacted in some way by these floods.
