Our latest Tropical Depression 08W is racing North West Towards Southern and Western Japan where yet more rainfall is not needed to say the least. The death toll in Kyushu has topped 25 at this time and with the threat of another shot of rain we hope here at western pacific weather that this weakens sufficiently before impacting the region. This could be possible as wind shear in the region is sufficient to decrease its intensity due to a strong Jet stream over the area. On the other hand the storm may still have enough rainfall to cause problems.
On the flip side Korea has been suffering a severe drought for some time now. Extreme crop loss has been reported across the region here so the rainfall would be welcomed across the Korean Peninsula.
