New Tropical Depression forms and Japan Floods, Northern Lights 15 July 2012

Published on July 15, 2012 by in Uncategorized

A new Tropical Depression has formed to the South East of Iwo To, at this time winds near the center of circulation are near 30kts yet gradient induced winds along the North Eastern Periphery are near 35kts. Over the next 48hrs there is a fair chance this could develop further in to a Tropical storm. If it does so it likely would take a North Westerly track along the southern periphery a sub-tropical ridge to the North. This would spell more rainfall to Western Japan where totals over the past several days have been staggering to say the least. Any more rainfall here would be making a bad situation worst. See the video update for complete details on these events and also a look at what many may see in the evening as the Northern lights begin to peak.
