JTWC – TCFA for Tropical Disturbance “96W” (West Philippine Sea) has been cancelled, located at 15.7N 116.6E, 265 nm (491 km) West-northwest of Manila, estimated winds at 12-17 kt (21-31 km/hr), accelerating West-northwest@04 kt (07 km/hr), 1005 hPa, due to lack of consolidation and lack of deep convection, the potential for the development of a significant Tropical Cyclone within the next 24 hrs is downgraded to Low. #weatherguyadonis @weartherguyadonz

Westernpacificweather -Tropical Disturbance “96W,” was located near 15.6N-119.4E, 197 km WNW of Valenzuela City, Bulacan, just off Palauig Bay in Zambales, 40 km/hr heading West-northwest@10 km/hr, almost stationary at the moment, 1004 hPa and steady. 17 mm/hr rainfall was recorded in Lingayen, Pangasinan as of 2149Z. Heavy rains too was observed in Southern Iloilo towns, to include Iloilo City at the moment amounting to 42 mm for the last 2 hrs ending at 00Z. #weatherguyadonis @weartherguyadonz

JTWC – issuance of TCFA for Tropical Disturbance 96W (Luzon Sea), near 15.9N 120.2E and 18.7N-114.9E, well within 165 nm (305 km), 15.6N 119.4E, 198 km West-northwest of Valenzuela City, Bulacan, estimated winds at 15-20 kt (28-37 km/hr), accelerating West@11 kt (20 km/hr), 1003 hPa, slowly developing under favorable upper-level environs and warm sea surface temperatures (28-30C), where potential for the development of a significant Tropical Cyclone within the next 24 hrs is High. #weatherguyadonis @weartherguyadonz

Westernpacificweather -Tropical Disturbance “96W,” was located near 15.5N-120.5E, 104 km NW of Valenzuela City, Bulacan, 40 km/hr heading West-northwest@10 km/hr, almost stationary at the moment, 1004 hPa and steady. Copious amounts of rains still pound much of Nueva Ecija and Nueva Vizcaya, to include parts of Zambales, Pampanga, Benguet and Pangasinan. Heaviest rains was recorded in Cabanatuan City at 52 mm so far.

Meantime, rains have stopped at the moment across Southern Panay Island, while 40 mm total rainfall has been recorded in Southern Iloilo towns. #weatherguyadonis @weartherguyadonz

Westernpacificweather -Two (2) persons have been killed in the adobe retaining wall collapse in Valenzuela City, Bulacan, another person still trapped beneath the rubble was being rescued as of broadcast. Light showers have been persisting in the area where the rescue efforts are underway. The local chief executive there have already dispatched heavy equipment to accelerate the retrieval of the dead and try to save a life hanging by a thread.

Meantime, no let up in the rains across much of Panay Island today since past 06Z. Sadly, we don’t have reliable AWS access in the province and PAGASA’s Project NOAH is practically useless too since their Doppler Radar facility in Mactan cannot penetrate the towering mountain ranges across much of Central Cebu, Northern and Central Negros Island. #weatherguyadonis @weartherguyadonz

Westernpacificweather Tropical Disturbance “96W,” has unleashed copious amounts of rainfall across much of Bulacan Province for the last 24 hrs now, where 3 houses were destroyed when an large adobe wall crashed into them beneath the bridge, and people are believed to have been trapped alive the rubble and reports says they are informal settlers.

A rescue operation is now underway in the hope of unearthing the victims buried under tons of debris. This is a developing story so please stand by for more information as we get it. #weatherguyadonis @weartherguyadonz

Westernpacificweather Tropical Disturbance “96W,” has continued to track generally Westward@ 12 km/hr, maintaining 40 km/hr mean winds, 15.1N-121.3E, 58 km Northeast of Valenzuela City, Bulacan, 1004 hPa. Widespread rainfall can be felt across much of Central Luzon, NCR and rest of Southern Tagalog Region, to include Northern Luzon, Northern Palawan and Northern Visayas.

Ipo Dam has already opened its spillways releasing torrents of excess waters from its reservoir according to PAGASA-Hydrology Department issued this afternoon, while La Mesa Dam was still on critical levels and NDRRMC have been urging the potentially affected areas downstream to evacuate at a moment’s notice.

Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija in Central Luzon has been experiencing heavy rains reaching to 56 mm for the last 2 hrs or so, while the rest of Bulacan and Pampanga just North of Manila had total rainfall amounts to 48 mm. Westernpacificweather Tropical Disturbance “96W,” has caused La Mesa Dam in NCR to reach critical levels and Red Alert has been issued for the low-lying communities along the spillway downstream. All major rivers across Southern Tagalog, parts of Central Luzon to include NCR (Manila) are set to reach critical levels due to nonstop rains. More update as they come in.

NDRRMC however has reported of two (2) deaths due to a rock slide that has struck an NAPOCOR property in Valenzuela in Bulacan, involving a house destroyed by moving Earth and rubble spawned by overnight torrential rains associated with the system. Areas now in grave danger for flooding is Laguna, Rizal, Cavite and Quezon. More details as they become available. #weatherguyadonis @weartherguyadonz

Westernpacificweather Tropical Disturbance “96W,” has moved past over just North of Tabaco City, Albay between 2100Z and 2200Z today according to our affiliate David Matthews reporting low clouds over Mount Mayon, and a total of 53.6 mm of rainfall associated with the system for the last 24 hrs. Central pressure fell 2 points from 1002 hPa last night to 1000.7 hPa, a bit clearing weather there now. #weatherguyadonis @weartherguyadonz

Westernpacificweather Tropical Disturbance “96W,” was located near 13.5N-123.9E, 23 km NNE of Tabaco City, Albay, 40 km/hr heading West-northwest@12 km/hr, 1004 hPa. Torrential rains across much of Southern Tagalog Regions especially in Quezon Province where a massive 48 mm of rainfall was recorded for the last 2 hrs, and 42 mm was recorded along Quezon City, Marikina, 39 mm in Sangley Point in Cavite was also taken into account.

According to DZRH Manila, widespread flooding was being observed in Pasig City, Taguig City, Marikina and Navotas Cities in the light of the nonstop thunderstorms associated with the breaking convective banding of the system. Flood warnings have been issued by PAGASA. #weatherguyadonis @weartherguyadonz

Westernpacificweather – DZRH Manila reports of torrential rains in Quezon, Marikina and Pasig City for the past 30 minutes. PAGASA has recorded 34.4 mm rainfall was observed at Sangley, Cavite for the past 3 hours and most likely to continue for the next hour.

Additional information supplemented:  20.6 mm rainfall was also observed at Port Area, Manila for the past 3 hours and most likely to continue for the next hour.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against heavy rains, lightning, strong winds and possible flashfloods. Watch out for the next update. #weatherguyadonis @weartherguyadonz

Westernpacificweather -  Tropical Disturbance “96W,” has been stationary for the last 4 hrs, depicting a more concentric circulation while poised to make landfall near Tabaco City, Albay. Intense rainfall has been reported reaching 46 mm/hr near Daet, Camarines Norte and Quezon Provinces for the past 2 hrs–that’s a huge amount of precipitation which could result into a flood event in low-lying areas.

In Camarines Sur and Marinduque, 30 mm/hr of rainfall has been recorded there. Heavy rains reminiscent of Tropical Storm “ONDOY,” known internationally as “Ketsana” in September of 2009 has been falling across much of NCR, Quezon Province, according to DZRH Manila. #weatherguyadonis @weartherguyadonz

Westernpacificweather - Tropical Disturbance “96W,” has been persisting near 13.3N-124.8E, 103 km East-southeast of Tabaco City, Albay, 40 km/hr, heading West@12 km/hr almost quasi-stationary for the past 6 hrs, 1004 hPa.

Our affiliate David Matthews in Tabaco City, Albay reports at 1330Z that his Wx station there has been recording 7-8 mm/hr rainfall and since 1st July, it has recorded an accumulated totals of about 37.7 mm, and 1005.3 hPa since 0730Z. At this juncture, he would be sending us additional information at daylight. #weatherguyadonis @weartherguyadonz

Westernpacificweather - Tropical Disturbance “96W,” has been trying to reorganize while heading West-northwest for the last 12 hrs, now located at 13.0N-126.1E, 259 km East-southeast of Tabaco City, Albay, 37 km/hr, heading West-northwest@12 km/hr, 1007 hPa. Widespread rains has been observed for the last 24 hrs for the most part of Eastern Visayas, Catanduanes and Bicol Region especially in Western sections of Mindoro, Marindoque, Panay, Masbate Northern Negros Islands. There had been reports of localized flooding in Central and Southern towns of Iloilo Province for the last 8 hrs due to incessant rainfall there.

PAGASA’s Doppler Radar facility in Mactan Island in Cebu Province however had a “blind spot,” in much of Northern Negros and rest of Iloilo Province due to terrain obstruction. AWS there too are not functional since the launch of Project NOAH. #weatherguyadonis @weartherguyadonz

Westernpacificweather We continue to monitor the progress of Tropical Disturbance “96W,” while it reorganizes along the East Philippine Sea. The JTWC has cancelled its TCFA issuance on the 29th of June 2012 yesterday@2300Z/30th of June 2012. JMA however pegged it to develop within the next 12-24 hrs as a minimal Tropical Depression while traversing the Eastern Visayas.

At this moment, widespread rains have been falling across much of the Central regions of the Philippines while we await further warnings on the system within the forthcoming 12 hrs or so. So please stay tuned on further developments as they progress. #weatherguyadonis @weartherguyadonz

JTWC – issuance of TCFA for Tropical Disturbance 96W (North of New Guinea), located at 2.2N-143.3E, 611 nm (1132 km) Southeast of Koror, Palau Island, estimated winds at 15-20 kt (28-37 km/hr), accelerating West-northwest@04 kt (07 km/hr), 1006 hPa, slowly developing under favorable upper-level environs and warm sea surface temperatures (27-29C), where potential for the development of a significant Tropical Cyclone within the next 12-24 hrs is High.
